About me
Hi! I am Luyin HU (胡鲁印). I am a Research Assistant at the TransGP@HKU under the supervision of Professor Kazuhiro Kosuge. Before that, I was fortunate to work with Professor David NAVARRO-ALARCON for my MPhil study.
My current research interest is in robotic deformable object manipulation. Concretely, we are working towards the in-air manipulation of cloth for robotic hanging.
DOM poses unique challenges to perception and control methods due to the high dimensional state space, the self-occlusion, and the anisotropic characteristics of the deformable objects. To address these issues, as the first step, I am building a physics-based and differentiable DOM simulator using Taichi. In this post, I share the recent progress from time to time.
I also have experience in non-linear control, robotic art, sensor fusion, and web development. For future study, I’m broadly interested in topics for creating intelligent robots that work alongside people.
